Corey Arnold

Tenor & Composer

A 2020 laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques and a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Tenor Corey Arnold, has sung in over 30 opera productions in Canada, the United States, and Italy, with concerts in Mexico and France as well. A staple in the Ontario regional circuit, Corey has many repeat engagements, singing with Pellegrini Opera, Southern Ontario Lyric Opera, Toronto City Opera, and York Opera. Upcoming performances include Erick in Der Fliegende Hollander with Opera by Request, and in February, Ottawa’s Parkdale Orchestra will have him as a guest singer singing opera’s biggest hits alongside excerpts from Corey’s own opera, The Lion Heart. Recent performances include Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana with Toronto City Opera, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with York Opera, and Mario Cavaradossi in Tosca, with La Belle Voix (Ottawa).

Corey is also an accomplished composer, with two operas, two musicals, a song cycle, and many arrangements for choral and instrumental ensembles. He conducted the premiere of his first opera, the Lion Heart, in March 2022 in Toronto. The Parkdale Orchestra will present scenes from this work in February 2024. A production of his second opera, The Bat and the Bells (a family opera), is currently in the works. His third opera, Possession, with a libretto by the same librettist as the first two, Kyle McDonald, is in progress now.
